technology for banking.

Driven by our Rethink Everything philosophy, our team is shaping tomorrow’s banking world. Through our long-standing commitment to innovation and in a context of ever-evolving customer needs, we use the power of technology to offer pioneering solutions that deliver new perspective for our clients. Together, we’re inventing the future of banking.

at the forefront of pioneering technology.

At Lombard Odier, we have a long tradition of innovation. Over 50 years ago, we were one of the first Swiss banks to implement an IBM mainframe. Twenty years after this revolution, we developed an in-house global wealth management platform called G2.

Alongside Private Banking and Asset Management, Banking Technology is one of the three pillars of the Lombard Odier Group

With more than 700 professionals based in Switzerland and Luxembourg, our Technology and Operations (T&O) unit’s mission is to manage and develop G2 for the entire Group and our clients. Our IT operations, development, infrastructure management, cyber-security and back office teams pool their expertise to serve all our offices and booking centres around the world in Switzerland, continental Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia and the Bahamas.

G2: by bankers, for bankers.

G2: by bankers, for bankers.

We at Lombard Odier have always seen opportunities in technology. From computerisation in the 1950s to helping establish the Swiss electronic stock exchange in the 1990s and forging partnerships with fintechs in the 21st century.

As wealth and asset managers, we tailor our state-of-the-art IT solutions for the world of investment. We focus on what we do the best, and our proprietary platform—G2—reflects our over 200-year heritage in private banking.

The first ideas on G2 emerged more than 30 years ago, and we have been developing it ever since. Today, G2 is renowned among professional investors and our clients as one of the leading platforms in the wealth management industry.

G2 is available everywhere the Group operates and is adapted to local requirements, such as legal and tax rules or currencies. Besides powering our operations, G2 is used by more than 300 external asset managers and 10 banking groups and financial institutions.

In today’s fast-paced environment, we are constantly improving our solutions

However technology, finance and regulations change in the coming years, we’re committed to ensuring our solutions are always fit for the future.

BPO clients, partners who stimulate innovation.

Recognising the strengths of our platform and driven by our ‘Rethink Everything’ philosophy, in the early 2000s, we decided to forge our own path by developing comprehensive IT Application Service Provider (ASP) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services.

Since then, our partner institutions in Switzerland, continental Europe, the UK and Singapore have successfully shared our platform and recognised the benefits of our experience and economies of scale.

We focus on middle-size Private Banks, similar to ours in terms of business model implementation and DNA

intuitive platforms and applications.

Beyond the many management and investment applications we’ve developed in-house, we have also developed world-class interfaces that offer private and professional clients alike access to their assets and numerous other functionalities.

For instance, through MyLO, LO Gate and LO SMART, we offer fluid, highly secure digital experiences that serve every need, available on web or mobile. We pay particular attention to the satisfaction of our clients, and are constantly developing our applications to ensure they always meet the highest technological and experiential standards.

pioneering partnerships.

We believe in open innovation, and are convinced that collaboration is essential to the inception and realisation of game-changing ideas. That is why we collaborate and partner with startups and the wider fintech sector.

For example, in 2020, we invested in Taurus, a leading Swiss provider of digital infrastructure for banks, asset managers and stock exchanges, as part of our strategic approach to remain at the forefront of advanced technology in blockchain and digital assets.

We also work with Wecan Comply, a platform that uses blockchain technology to simplify the exchange of compliant information between custodian banks and independent asset managers.

At Lombard Odier, we push the boundaries of technology to deliver the solutions of tomorrow

open to tomorrow’s talent.

Thanks to our long-standing partnerships with schools and research & innovation hubs, such as Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), we are evolving in an innovative and dynamic ecosystem.

We support these institutions through philanthropy and collaborate on conferences and other events

It is essential for us to maintain intellectual diversity within our teams, which include bankers and senior IT specialists alongside young talents who bring fresh perspectives and solutions. For more information, visit our Careers page.

security and data protection.

Protecting and growing our clients’ assets is the core of our business. As such, we demand the very best risk management policies, cybersecurity and fraud prevention technologies.

To ensure that our proprietary banking platform includes the latest fraud prevention systems to protect our clients and their assets, we partnered with NetGuardians, whose pioneering AI-based fraud prevention system is able to detect both established and emerging fraud patterns.

our commitment to sustainability.

our commitment to sustainability.

As such, technology plays a significant role in meeting our sustainability objectives.

Driven by our commitment to supporting the transition to a CLIC™ (Circular, Lean, Inclusive and Clean) economy, we have been searching tirelessly for concrete solutions that will enable us to reap the benefits of technology, sustainably.

By combining several sources of sustainability data, we have implemented a client tool that tracks portfolio sustainability across a range of high- and low-level indicators. We feed these sustainability figures directly into our G2 banking platform, so portfolio managers can monitor them on a daily basis to track the sustainability and allocation of their investments and raise warnings when a company is involved with unapproved sectors, such as tobacco or pesticides. We also aggregate the carbon footprint and water usage of each company to produce overall figures for the entire portfolio. Finally, we indicate the extent to which the portfolio contributes to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

When used appropriately, technology is an enabler of sustainability

As a result, sustainability is deeply embedded in our portfolio creation and management process. We monitor the sustainability of portfolios over time and use this information to inform investment decisions and compile sustainability reports.
