Leadership evolution in Lombard Odier’s Fribourg office

Lombard Odier has appointed Stéphane Python as Local Managing Director of its office in Fribourg, where the Bank has had a presence for more than 15 years. Effective from 1 January 2025, the appointment is part of a generational handover in keeping with the Group’s tradition of business continuity. He will report directly to Stéphane Pedraja, Capital Partner and Head of the Lausanne, Vevey, Fribourg and Verbier offices. Didier Muller, who has led the Fribourg office since its creation, will remain in his position until the end of December, continuing to support our clients and ensuring a smooth transition. He will remain with Lombard Odier and will continue to serve clients in the years to come.

Stéphane Python’s appointment underlines the continuous growth of Lombard Odier’s activity in the Fribourg region, where the Bank has served private clients – primarily local entrepreneurs and their families – as well as institutional clients since 2008. Over the course of more than 15 years, the office has doubled in size, currently employing six bankers representing all generations.

Stéphane Python grew up in the Gibloux region of Fribourg and joined Lombard Odier on 1 July 2024. Bilingual in French and Swiss-German, he benefits from more than 35 years of banking experience. Before joining Lombard Odier, Stéphane headed up a team at Julius Baer serving wealthy clients in German-speaking Switzerland. He also spent more than 30 years at Credit Suisse, notably as a manager of private clients in the Zurich region.
