Herzog & de Meuron wins Lombard Odier architectural contest for its new global headquarters in Bellevue
The Lombard Odier Group announced today that Herzog & de Meuron has won the contest for its new state-of-the-art headquarters in Bellevue (Geneva). The world-renowned architectural firm was the unanimous choice of the contest’s jury, chaired by Hugo Bänziger, Managing Partner of Lombard Odier. Eight international architectural firms participated, upon invitation, in the competition. Herzog & de Meuron’s winning project will be revealed on Monday 27th November at 11:30 AM CET at the Société Nautique de Genève. The event, in the presence of Pierre de Meuron and Jacques Herzog, will be a live webcast.
“Herzog & de Meuron truly understood our vision of resolutely contemporary architecture, which will look remarkable from the sky, land and lake. They conceptualised a cutting-edge head office. It will be a symbol of the bank of tomorrow by combining a sense of timeless elegance with innovation as well as blending harmoniously with its exceptional surroundings,” said Patrick Odier, Senior Managing Partner of Lombard Odier. “We also wish to express our gratitude to all the participating firms for their substantial commitment and creativity. It was a privilege and honour to receive such extraordinary projects from the world’s best architects.”

On April 25th 2017, Lombard Odier announced its decision to build a new global headquarters in Bellevue (Geneva) on the shore of Lake Geneva in order to bring all its staff together under one roof. The construction of the new head office is a strategic step in Lombard Odier’s development, illustrating confidence in the future and commitment to investing in cutting-edge infrastructure in line with new ways of working. Once completed in 2021, it will accommodate up to 2,600 workspaces. The new headquarters of Lombard Odier will be the first architectural achievement of Herzog & de Meuron in Geneva.
