Lombard Odier Islamic finance expertise rewarded

Lombard Odier is honoured to have won one of the most prestigious prizes at the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) WealthBriefing Awards 2021, celebrated in Dubai.

The "Best Shariah-Compliant Wealth Management Offering" award recognises the stand-out features of our mandate in Islamic finance – a holistic offering which is fully customisable for our clients. This mandate draws on our long heritage as a responsible investor, and gives clients seeking Islamic solutions access to the full capabilities of Lombard Odier as a global wealth manager. It can be built using any mixture of sukuks, equities and short-term instruments, funds consistent with the principles of Islamic finance and exchange-traded funds, real estate, gold and structured products. In 2018, our Shariah mandate was officially certified as Shariah compliant by the Shariah Supervisory Board of Amanie Advisors.

"We have been offering Islamic investment solutions under the umbrella brand of Lombard Odier Assayil for almost ten years, and this prize rewards the quality of our expertise. With an office in Dubai since 2007 and being the first Swiss private bank to receive a license to operate at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), we are confident in the Emirates' and GCC future as a key business location and wealth generator," says Arnaud Leclercq, Partner Holding Privé and Head of New Markets at Lombard Odier.

"Innovation and excellence" in the MENA region

Showcasing 'best of breed' providers in the MENA region, the awards have been designed to recognise outstanding organisations, grouped by specialisation and geographical area, which the prestigious panel of independent judges deems to have "demonstrated innovation and excellence during the last year". The judges were impressed that these mandates are "innovative, bespoke and fully customisable solutions, which sets them apart from competitor products".

ClearView Financial Media's CEO, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, Stephen Harris, was first to extend his congratulations to all the winners. He said: "These awards recognise the very best operators in MENA wealth management, with 'independence', 'integrity' and 'genuine insight' the watchwords of the judging process."
