Four prizes for Lombard Odier at the WealthBriefing Swiss Awards 2024, including Best Domestic Private Bank

For the 10th year running, Lombard Odier has been honoured at the WealthBriefing Swiss Awards, including winning the prestigious Best Domestic Private Bank prize for the eighth time.

We received four awards in total at the event, held in Geneva on 8 February. The accolades recognise our banking expertise and the strength of our cutting-edge technologies in serving our clients. They also underline our position as a major player in wealth management.

Lombard Odier’s awards came in the following categories:

    Best Domestic Private Bank

This award recognises our offering to our Swiss client base.

“Our approach is intended to be global, multi-pocket and multi-generational,” says Philippe Gay, Head of Swiss Market Offering at Lombard Odier. “It takes a holistic view of our clients’ individual situations and the various components that make up their wealth (private, family, company, real estate, debt assets), combining portfolio management with wealth planning. We structure their integral wealth. This allows us to put in place efficient solutions with a view to generating returns and helping them achieve their goals.”

Switzerland is set to see large numbers of the baby-boomer generation retiring in the next five years. At the same time, there will be many transfers of companies, growing involvement from the next generation and a massive movement of wealth.

Lombard Odier has anticipated these developments and structured its offer accordingly. It has created a new centre of expertise, Lombard Odier Corporate Advisory, that aims to support business owners at all stages of strategic decisions linked to selling companies, passing them on to the next generation, their transfer and their governance.

This WealthBriefing award also acknowledges Lombard Odier’s commercial dynamism. The Bank has opened new offices in Zug and Verbier, augmenting its existing network in Geneva, Zurich, Lausanne, Vevey and Fribourg.

    Best Private Bank Operations Team

Lombard Odier’s investment in and long-term commitment to its technological wealth management platform helped it secure this award. The platform was developed entirely in-house, and the WealthBriefing jury cited the importance of creating innovative, flexible solutions for private clients and third-party institutions.

“Winning this award for the second year in a row reflects the huge success of the continuous improvements we have made in terms of service and quality within the operating teams,” says Jason Teahon, Head of Operations at Lombard Odier. “Thanks to the passion and commitment of our teams, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to support our clients and ensure we manage our processes in a controlled manner, in an effort to enhance quality and reduce risks. 2023 will be remembered for the significant progress made in the programme to rebuild our GX platform, which aims to retain our competitive edge while continuing to offer our clients the best technology in the market.”

    Best Client Reporting

“Receiving this prestigious prize for the second year running not only highlights our constant search for excellence and innovation, but also acknowledges our position as a leader in personalised financial reporting,” says Philippe Zuberbuhler, Head of Global Asset+ at Lombard Odier. “This strategy allows us to create bespoke solutions in the same way a garment can be tailor-made.”

Based entirely on a modular, agile approach, our LO Smart360 interface makes it possible to respond rapidly to new client needs in terms of data displays, helping them analyse and manage their financial assets. The ongoing exchange of information between our clients and experts means we are constantly enriching our ecosystem with new analytical tools. These range from evaluations of alternative assets and sustainability-centric portfolio reviews, to ways of monitoring costs and investment constraints.

The jury was impressed by the Web reporting tool, which is based on a “What you see is what you get” approach. This allows users to create and personalise a consolidated dashboard and financial reports to obtain an overview of their wealth.

    Best Technology Outsourcing Solution

“We are proud to have received this prize reflecting the quality of our banking platform, which we also make available to other financial institutions. It reinforces our commitment to our technological offering,” says Geoffroy De Ridder, Head of Technology and Operations. “It’s thanks to the Lombard Odier Group’s strategic vision and to the close collaboration between our private banking units and our Technology unit that we are in a position to offer innovative solutions on a permanent basis to our clients, who conduct their business on our platform.”

The judges were impressed by “the offer of a platform created by bankers for bankers, the expertise and the technologies. This innovative, fully integrated banking platform is not just an efficient tool for bankers, it also offers clients numerous benefits.”
