Lombard Odier Investment Managers launches Swedish Krona share class for Multi-Asset Fund

Lombard Odier Investment Managers (‘Lombard Odier IM’) has added a Swedish Krona hedged share class to LO Funds – All Roads Multi-Asset (‘All Roads’), in response to Swedish institutional investor interest and the strong investment rationale for multi-asset solutions in a low yield environment.

All Roads aims to offer investors a stable growth trajectory by allocating dynamically to a highly diversified range of sources of return in a fully transparent and liquid format.  The fund, which is already available in Euro share classes in Sweden, will now offer Swedish pension funds, insurance companies and institutional investors access to a hedged Krona share class.

“Lombard Odier IM draws on seven generations of expertise in investment management to provide clients and investors with an alternative and innovative approach, said Mats Langensjö, Client Solutions Director at Lombard Odier IM. “The launch of a Swedish share class for All Roads is a natural extension of our ongoing effort to expand our Swedish distribution network. Institutional clients are demanding different investment tools to solve the negative yield and return challenges and in our view, our multi-asset strategy, which aims to be liquid, diversified, systematic and scalable, can offer an alternative to fixed income without currency risk.”

Theodore Economou, CIO of Multi-Asset, adds, “After benefiting from falling interest rates for more than three decades, investors face unprecedented risk and liquidity issues in their fixed income investments. This is particularly true in Sweden where cash yields are deeply negative and institutional investors confront the challenge of delivering stable returns whilst preserving capital to meet growing long-term liabilities without worsening their balance sheet or the retirement conditions of their members.

“In today’s uncertain world, investors should seek suitable fixed income substitute strategies that can replicate key bond-like characteristics. All Roads aims to deliver smooth performance with a total return target within a defined risk budget that aims to provide capital preservation across economic cycles, coupled with a systematic and dynamic allocation that adapts to changing market conditions,” adds Mats Langensjö.
