THE HYDROS FOUNDATION INVITED TO THE BOSPHORUS CUP AS A SPECIAL GUEST
Record-breaking flying catamaran Hydros.ch took to Turkish waters for the first time during the 15th Bosphorus Cup, held in Istanbul from 26 to 29 May 2016.
The competition is Turkey's flagship sailing event and brings together hundreds of participants from all over Europe every year.
This year, the organisers, who attach great importance to environmental issues, invited the Hydros Foundation and its ambassador to attend the event to promote energy efficiency and raise awareness of the importance of technology and innovation in the maritime and nautical world.
Hydros.ch delighted the many spectators at the Bosphorus Cup with beautiful hydrofoil sailing displays during the competition. The representatives of the Hydros Foundation also spoke to future engineers during a conference held in their honour at Istanbul Technical University.
Hydros.ch is a hydrofoil catamaran, a record-breaker and a veritable floating laboratory. It was first launched on Lake Geneva in 2010. The boat was designed jointly by the marine engineering team at the Hydros research centre and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), and built by the Décision SA shipyard.
