GROWING PARTNERSHIP WITH KOOKMIN BANK
Lombard Odier’s partnership with South Korea’s Kookmin Bank has passed its three year milestone with both sides keen to strengthen the alliance.
Since 2012, Lombard Odier has combined its expertise in wealth management and private banking with Kookmin Bank's knowledge and operational capacity in South Korea. The cooperation has offered high net worth Korean clients access to Lombard Odier’s global investment solutions and wealth management expertise.
Now the two banks plan to enlarge the scope of their cooperation and exchanges as well as the scale of the training programme for Kookmin Bank’s relationship managers and financial advisors.
“This partnership continues to bring our depth of private banking expertise and global investment platform to Korean clients,” said Vincent Duhamel, Limited Partner and Head of Asia for Lombard Odier.
Mr Duhamel joined representatives of Kookmin Bank at a ceremony to mark the milestone, with Emmanuel Roulin, head of Sales for Lombard Odier Investments Managers Asia, and Vincent Magnenat, head of Lombard Odier Asia.
Since signing the deal in South Korea, Lombard Odier has strengthened its presence throughout Asia by aligning with other regional banks.
Our Group has similar arrangements with nine banks in Japan, including The Shizuoka Bank and The Chiba Bank, as well as with Australian wealth manager JBWere, Thailand’s Kasikornbank and China’s Industrial Bank.
The success of Asia’s partnership strategy is a reflection of the strength of collaboration between Private Clients, Lombard Odier Investment Managers and the Technology and Business Services Division.
Lombard Odier has been present in Asia for almost 30 years, having set up its Hong Kong office in 1987 to manage the investments of private and institutional clients throughout the region.
