2015 MARCEL DUCHAMP PRIZE WINNER HOLDS SOLO EXHIBITION IN PARIS
Last year’s winner of the Marcel Duchamp Prize, which is supported by Lombard Odier,
is holding a solo exhibition at the Pompidou Centre in Paris from 1 June to 15 August 2016.
Melik Ohanian’s exhibition Under Shadows is being billed as “a cosmic exploration, somewhere between poetry and science, set between the infinitely small and the infinitely great”.
One of the main works on display is inspired by NASA’s announcement that the Milky Way will collide with the Andromeda Galaxy in four billion years’ time.
The Marcel Duchamp Prize, which is intended to promote the international recognition of artists working in France in the field of visual and fine arts, has been supported by Lombard Odier almost since its launch. The winner receives an endowment of 35,000 euros.
The announcement and award ceremony for the 2016 laureate takes place on Tuesday, 18 October 2016 following the nomination of four artists in February. Lombard Odier (Europe), S.A., France Branch is organising a cocktail for private clients and prospects on that day at the Pompidou Centre.
A group exhibition of the four nominated artists will run at the Pompidou Centre from12 October 2016 to 16 January 2017 with a private view on Tuesday, 11 October 2016.
