Lombard Odier appoints Head of Independent Asset Managers UK
Lombard Odier Private Bank announces the appointment of Michael Le Garignon as Head of Independent Asset Managers (IAM) UK, as the firm continues its investment programme to build its presence in the UK. Michael will be responsible for driving the launch of Lombard Odier’s independent asset management offering in the UK next year.
Michael has over 30 years of experience in financial services, and joins from Société Générale Securities Services where he was Head of Business Development, Sales & Relationship Management, UK & Ireland. Michael has also held business development roles at JP Morgan and BNP Paribas Securities Services during his career.
Lombard Odier’s Independent Asset Managersi division has offered tailor-made solutions to Independent Asset Managers for more than twenty five years and has €18 billion under custody (£15.3 billion). The dedicated team of more than 60 coordinates and manages IAMs’ needs in conjunction with the Firm’s specialist departments.
It also provides multi-family offices and wealth managers a state-of-the-art portfolio management platform, whose features include performance analysis, asset consolidation, reporting and order entries. Custody services, personalised support, a dedicated advisory platform and a world-class wealth management tool are just a few examples of what Lombard Odier can offer IAMs. Lombard Odier plans to bring this established model to the UK market.
Duncan MacIntyre, Chief Executive Officer, UK at Lombard Odier comments: “Technology is a hugely important factor in order for family offices and wealth managers to flourish. They need robust systems with the highest standards of quality to meet the demands of their clients and develop businesses to their full potential, benefitting from the full suite of services Lombard Odier has to offer. This need will only get greater as regulatory pressure increases. We’re delighted to welcome Michael to Lombard Odier, whose wealth of expertise will be valuable for driving forward the IAM business in the UK, which is an important part of our growth strategy.”
Michael’s appointment is the latest in a series of hires Lombard Odier has made to strengthen its London offering. In October, it announced six appointments, including a new Chief Operating Officer, three Private Bankers, a new Wealth Planner and a Legal Counsel.
