Catherine Zennström is co-founder of Zennström Philanthropies, focusing her work on the human rights portfolio as well as promoting best practice in philanthropy. She serves as vice chair of the international Board of Directors for Human Rights Watch, she is Chair of their European and Central Asia Advisory Council, a member of their Disability Rights Advisory Committee and their Environment and Human Rights Advisory Committee. In 2007, she became a member of the Global Philanthropy Forum Advisory Council and, later, a trustee of The Philanthropy Workshop (formerly Institute for Philanthropy). She is a member of International Human Rights Funders Group and Ariadne (Network of European Funders for Social Change and Human Rights). From 2003 to 2006, Catherine worked as an office volunteer at Médecins Sans Frontières and Amnesty International UK. In 2006, she became a trustee of Refuge (a national organisation fighting against domestic violence in the UK and helping women and children).

Hugo Mahieu is a finance executive who has spent his career in consulting, banking, entrepreneurship but mostly in venture capital with Mangrove Capital Partner, the Luxembourg based investment company known for being the early institutional investor in Skype (telecommunications application software) or Wix (cloud-based web development platform).  Driven by the desire to act in making this planet a better world, he recently decided to devote himself full time to the animation and management of the foundation established 8 years ago by Mangrove Capital Partners. Its purpose is to select, finance and support projects aimed at the preservation of the environment and the women empowerment.
