Family business
An independent family business for seven generations, Lombard Odier shares the values that guide all family entrepreneurs wishing to pass their company on to future generations: responsibility, long-term commitment, and the pursuit of excellence. That is the reason why we are deeply involved in encouraging skill-sharing and promoting family businesses.
Lombard Odier has long supported research in the family business field by facilitating the publication of works written by top international experts.
As Lombard Odier looks to the future and places a considerable emphasis on training and on promoting excellence, it organizes training programs and is actively involved in awarding two prizes that honor family businesses that have successfully blended entrepreneurial efficiency and family interests:
- IMD-Lombard Odier Global Family Business Award
- "Grand Prix de l’Entreprise Patrimoniale et Familiale"
Additionally, Thierry Lombard, Managing Partner of Lombard Odier & Cie, is the Chairman of the Board of the Family Business Network International (FBN-I), a network which counts more than 4,000 family business leaders in over 50 countries.
Lombard Odier is also a member of The Henokiens association. This prestigious group, which brings together some 40 European and Japanese family businesses noted for their longevity (at least 200 years in existence) and robust financial health, was created in 1981 in Paris as a vehicle for exchanging ideas and promoting the business model that shaped their strength and reputation - the family firm.
