Promoting sustainable development

As bankers, we have long realized the major role that sustainable development has to play in our economic development, but we also wish to help our society meet the challenges of sustainable growth by encouraging research and innovation, as well as initiatives aimed at changing our habits and customs, with a view to protecting the environment more effectively.

Deepsea under the Pole
By supporting this polar expedition, Fondation 1796 wishes to raise the general public’s awareness of this beautiful submarine world, which, although largely undiscovered, is already starting to disappear because of global warming.


WWF’s Forest Carbon Initiative
We support the development of market mechanisms to preserve forests. This initiative from WWF International, which is crucial to the fight against climate change, is linked to the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD).

Partnership with GoodPlanet – This foundation, set up by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in 2005, aims to promote sustainable development and raise people’s awareness of the crucial importance of ecology.
